Robinson Hall Box Office FAQ
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
We always recommend purchasing tickets in advance for your convenience and to guarantee a seat. Any performance taking place in our Black Box Theater will likely sell out, so we definitely would suggest purchasing ahead of time in that case. Most of the music concerts held in the Belk Theater or in Rowe Recital Hall do not sell out, with the exception of dual ensembles (i.e. Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band, Men's & Women's Choirs). In the event that a performance is not sold out, tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
I want to purchase tickets for a performance, but it’s not listed here.

The performance that I want to attend is listed as “sold out.” Is there a waitlist?
Yes. If a performance sells out, we will do a waitlist on the night/afternoon of the performance. To put your name on the waitlist, please arrive at least one half hour prior to performance time and stop by the box office. We sometimes have tickets to release to the waitlist 10 minutes prior to performance time. These tickets are subject to availability and there is no guarantee that tickets will be released.
I don’t want to purchase tickets online. Is there another way to purchase?
Yes, you may also purchase tickets over the phone or in person. There are no additional fees for purchasing online or over the phone- our ticket prices remain the same no matter how you purchase. I want to bring a group. Do you offer any group rates?
No, but we have several different ticket categories and would be happy to help accommodate your group. Please contact Liz Paradis, Audience Services Manager, at email@example.com for more information.
Do I have to be a student at UNC Charlotte to purchase a student ticket?
No, the student price is available to all students regardless of academic affiliation.
What age qualifies me for the senior price?
I just attempted to purchase tickets, but the page refreshed and I didn’t get a confirmation e-mail. When I checked my banking statement, a charge appears as “pending.” Do I have tickets?
Most likely not. If you successfully complete a purchase, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. (Remember to check your junk mail if it’s not appearing in your inbox.) Sometimes, if any incorrect information was typed in at checkout, the site will reject the transaction and the page will refresh. Please make sure that you’re typing in the correct card information and that the billing zip code for your card matches the zip code in your account. Usually the problem can be attributed to incorrect address verification.
If the purchase wasn’t successfully completed, you will not be charged. Your card may be temporarily authorized, but the pending charge will disappear within 24 hours. If you are continuing to have trouble purchasing online, please call us at 704-687-1849 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with a number and convenient time to reach you.
I selected the “e-ticket” option at checkout. Can I bring my phone and show my ticket from my phone? Or do I need to print the e-ticket?
You don’t need to print the e-ticket, although you are welcome to if you so choose. We are able to scan the ticket directly from your phone.
I selected “will call” at checkout. Where will my ticket be?
Your ticket will be waiting at the box office on the day/evening of the performance. Just look for the “will call” sign!
I purchased tickets that I cannot use. Can I have a refund?
All tickets sales are final and we do not offer refunds. In the case of an emergency, a COVID related issue, or if the performance you have tickets for is sold out, please e-mail us at email@example.com.
I lost my ticket! What do I do?
Feel free to stop by the box office prior the performance and we’ll be more than happy to reprint it for you. If it was an e-ticket, the link to the ticket will be within your confirmation email.
Planning Your Visit
Are there assigned seats for performances?
No. All seating for our performances is unassigned (general admission) and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
When do the doors open for the performances?
The house will open one half hour prior to performance time. 7pm for evening performances, and 1:30pm for the matinees.
Can I take photos or video during the performances?
No. As a courtesy to the performers and other patrons, we do not permit photography or recording of any kind.
Do you offer free parking for your performances? Where is the parking located?
Yes, we offer complimentary parking for all performances! Just stop by the box office to have your parking ticket validated. Parking is located in East Deck 1, just past Robinson Hall on the right side of the street. For directions and a map, please visit https://coaa.charlotte.edu/events-venues/plan-your-visit.
For accessible parking, there is a lot located directly across the street from Robinson Hall. The ticket machine does not need to be paid during performances.
Does Robinson Hall have assisted listening or wheelchair accessible seating?

I'm running late to the performance. Can I still attend?
It depends on the performance. Late seating is not guaranteed, and is at the discretion of the House Manager.
UNC Charlotte Students
I am a student at UNC Charlotte. Do I get a free ticket?
No. If you are a major in the College of Arts + Architecture, you receive one major ticket. Otherwise, student tickets are $8.00.
Can I pay for a ticket with the balance on my Niner ID card?
No. We accept cash, check, and all major credit/debit cards.
UNC Charlotte CoA+A Majors
I'm trying to reserve my major ticket online and the option isn’t appearing for me.
Please make sure that the email in your account is your UNC Charlotte email. The ticketing site will not recognize your status as a CoA+A Major without your UNC Charlotte email. You can edit your email by clicking on “My Account” at the top of your screen.
If your email is correct and you’re still having trouble, please e-mail us at email@example.com so that we can verify your status and adjust your account accordingly.
Can I leave my major ticket under someone else’s name?
No. Your major ticket is intended for your use only.
Can I pick up my ticket before the night of the performance?
No. Tickets are available for pick up on the night/afternoon of the performance only. CoA+A Major tickets are not distributed in advance.
When can I pick up my major ticket?
You can pick up your major ticket when the box office opens for the performance (6:15pm for evening performances or 12:45pm for matinees). Tickets will be available for pick up until 10 minutes prior to the performance time. At that time, all unclaimed major tickets will be released.
