The Percussion Ensemble welcomes CPCC Dance Theatre and special guests for a performance of Stravinsky's ballet, Les Noces ("The Wedding"). The work is scored for soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and bass soloists, mixed chorus, and two groups of percussion instruments, including four pianos. Stravinsky dedicated the work to the dance impresario Sergei Diaghilev, and it was premiered by the Ballet Russe in 1923. Central Piedmont Community College dance professor Clay Daniel as choreographed a new version for this performance.
