Theatre alumna Tina Kelly directs the Department of Theatre production of contemporary playwright Charly Evon Simpson's Jump, a lyrical piece centered on the relationship between two sisters and their mother's memory.

“Depression, grief, suicide, and mental illness are just some of the themes Charly Simpson explores in her play Jump …While not offering any definitive answers, Simpson’s richly layered script does offer a ray of hope that connection is possible IF we pull together the courage to reach out, listen, and trust one another. It’s thought-provoking, cautionary storytelling that does what theater does best: informs, enlightens, entertains, and (hopefully) brings us closer together.”-

Join us for an Audience-Centered Conversation after Each Performance. Please stay after the performance for an audience-centered conversation with Michael Dyson, a licensed mental health counselor associate at Good Stress Company. Michael will engage the audience in a conversation about the play’s subject matter as it relates to suicide, suicide ideation, depression, substance abuse, and other topics of interest to audience members.

Content Advisory: This production of Jump includes content that some audience members might find disturbing, including references to suicide and depictions of depression and alcohol abuse.
